From the July 1971 issue of the American Motorcyclist magazine

The San Jacinto High Rollers, Houston's biggest American Motorcycle Association sanctioned club, worked closely
with the radio staff of KILT and the Astrodome in putting on the first annual KILT Trail Ride. The event took
place Saturday, January 30, the day of the Indoor Short Track National at the Astrodome.
During the early afternoon, the High Rollers put on a very entertaining exhibition motorcycle field meet at Simonton,
Texas. Events included a balloon race, ramp jumping, slow race, Eskimo pie race and egg-in-spoon race.
After the field meet, over 35 High Rollers assisted the Houston Police in escorting more than 500 motorcyclists
safely to the Astrodome. Before the start of the short track event, the High Rollers escorted the large group of
cyclists on a lap around the inside of the 'Dome.
The San Jacinto High Rollers is the oldest motorcycle club in Houston. It was organized over 14 years ago. It is
a family type club and has done a lot of work with other civic clubs in the Houston area. This motorcycle club has
always been available to help raise money for charities and civic improvements. The main purpose of the San
Jacinto High Rollers is to promote the sport of motorcycling through organized club interest and activities
and to improve the public image of the sport through their activities, conduct and service to the community.
The San Jacinto High Rollers is made up of people from all walks of life with one central common bond - the love of
motorcycling. The average member has more than $2,000 tied up in his club commitments and motorcycle, and spends
over 15 hours a week working at club functions. The members of this club take a lot of pride in what they are and what
they are trying to do because they have put in a lot of hard work trying to improve the image of the motorcyclist.
The club is currently made up of three chapters. The president of the Pasadena Chapter is Jerry Broadhurst. This chapter
